Mechanical Process Engineer - Engineering (DS113)Full-time position at ProSidian Consulting.ProSidian is a Management and Operations Consulting Services firm focused on risk management, compliance, business process, IT effectiveness, energy & sustainability, and talent management. We serve a broad spectrum of industries including energy, manufacturing, chemical, retail, healthcare, telecommunications, hospitality, pharmaceuticals, banking and financial services, transportation, and government agencies.This role supports a liquid waste contractor (Savannah River Remediation [SRR]) at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC, owned by the U.S. Department of Energy. The candidate will provide engineering support services on assigned SRR Engineering Teams, including but not limited to Process Flow, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, System Descriptions, Mechanical Equipment Lists, Mechanical Equipment, Pipe, and Valve Specifications, Failure Analysis, Accident Analysis, Finite Element Analysis, ASME Code design and evaluation, Pipe Stress Analysis, Material Handling Design, Fire Protection Design, HVAC Design, and Vendor Document Reviews.Responsibilities may require travel to interface with vendors, fabricators, and other Engineering organizations. All engineering services will follow SRR processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRR.EducationBS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or current registration as a Professional Engineer in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.Experience & Skills• Five years of design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.• Knowledge of ASME B31.3 code requirements.• Experience in 2D MicroStation CAD is preferred.• Ability to walk down systems in the field.Work HoursA 40‑hour work week is scheduled. Work schedules may include 5/8s, 4/10s, or 9/80s. Lunch is 30 minutes.
