MECHANICAL PROCESS ENGINEER
MONTGOMERY, AL
REPORTS TO: Manufacturing Support Senior Manager

SUMMARY OF JOB: Establish overall process flow for die shop and production operations, analyze processes, and continuous improvement of processes.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE NEEDED: BS Degree in Engineering & 3 years related engineering experience.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Establish and document the most economical process of each part from die shop to shipment.
  2. Issue FEMA's as needed, review the FEMA's and FEMA process at least once a year. Modify as necessary to improve.
  3. Time study processes to improve flow and reduce time.
  4. Develop and maintain equipment capability information.
  5. Recommend and implement (if assigned to do so) process and equipment improvements.
  6. Work with other departments in a teamwork atmosphere.
  7. Be a member of improvement teams as assigned.
  8. Be aggressive in looking for ways to improve recovery and productivity.
  9. Handle the mistake proofing process and documentation.
  10. Be a consultant for other departments for work flow analysis and improvement as needed.
  11. Perform overall process review of incoming equipment for optimized flow.
  12. Regular and predictable attendance.
  13. Ability to complete an assigned task in a safe manner and in a constant state of alertness and must understand and follow all safety and quality rules and procedures.
  14. Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with craft workers, laborers, subcontractors, co-workers, supervisors, and others on the jobsite and in the office.
  15. Must be able to follow company policies and procedures.
  16. Other job duties as assigned.

SPECIALIZED SKILLS

Process flow knowledge. Time study and economy of motion. CAD, spreadsheets and other computer programs. Communication, written and verbal.

SUPERVISION: None

PROBLEM SOLVING/DECISION MAKING

Complex process flow problems and data analysis.
