Mechanical QA Inspector

PrideStaff is seeking a skilled Mechanical QA Inspector for a 1st shift position in the Gahanna/Blacklick area. This role involves conducting detailed inspections of manufacturing parts, fabricated assemblies, and powdered materials to ensure adherence to quality standards. The inspector works independently as part of the QA team, focusing on precision, compliance, and continuous improvement to support production excellence.

• 1st Shift: Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm
• Starting Pay Rate: $20-25/hr. , based on experience level

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of incoming materials, in-process items, and finished products
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
• Identify and report non-conformities and recommend corrective actions
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Ability to accurately complete certifications and calibrate measuring equipment
• Proficient in using hand-held inspection equipment and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
• Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT)
• Ability to convert between Metric and English measurements, and fractions to decimals
• Competent in reading and interpreting third and first angle projection prints, drawings, and specifications
• Familiarity with calibration systems and statistical quality techniques
• Understanding and execution of material inspection procedures across various product types
• Experience determining disposition of nonconforming machined, fabricated, finished, and powdered products

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in mechanical inspection
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong blueprint reading skills
• Experience with precision measuring instruments
• Background in material inspection
