The Mechanical QA/QC Engineer provides quality control of all mechanical and piping systems during the construction of mission‑critical data centers.

This role supports the development and administration of quality related policies, procedures, initiatives, and techniques to ensure that all quality standards are met during the execution of the project.

The Mechanical QA/QC Engineer should have 2 or more years of experience in data centers and MEP systems including: building management systems (BMS), cooling infrastructure, critical plumbing, electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS), electrical distribution, UPS systems, and support utilities.

The Mechanical QA/QC Engineer acts as a liaison between the trade partners, MEP Manager, and the Cx Project Manager, helping to ensure coordination, quality compliance, and successful delivery across all phases of the data center build.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: Experience in mission critical or large scale commercial projects. Background in HVAC, Controls, Operations, or Mechanical Field Services. Any industry trade certifications or licenses are a plus. Experience with construction/commissioning software ACC, procore, CxAlloy, Etc.

Travel: 100%

Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 6 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in all mechanical QA/QC activities across data center construction projects.

  • Oversee quality control processes for mechanical systems including:

  • HVAC systems (CRAH/CRAC units)

  • Chilled water systems

  • Cooling towers

  • Pumps and piping systems

  • Mechanical plant infrastructure

  • Fire, life, and safety systems

  • Create daily and weekly QA/QC reports that support client turnover and acceptance.

  • Conduct site inspections to verify installation aligns with drawings, specifications, and mission-critical tolerances.

  • Utilization of construction / commissioning software such as ACC, Procore, CxAlloy, Etc.

  • Review shop drawings and mechanical submittals for conformance.

  • Participates in project meetings

  • Ensure strict adherence to OSHA and site-specific safety standards.

  • Promote a proactive safety culture and refuse unsafe work.

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
