    Job Description

     Our client is a national Construction Management firm who works in the public, private, and federal government sectors.  They have a need for a Mechanical QAQC Engineer to serve as a SME interpreting construction documents for design review and quality assurance. The Mechanical Engineer SME shall possess professional registration as a mechanical engineer and have a minimum of seven (7) years specialized experience in their disciplines, and possess the below listed skills and abilities.

    Daily Responsibilities:

    • SME shall function as the field quality assurance inspector for MEP/HVAC systems.

    • Building System Commissioning – Provide Cx program oversight and coordination of the Design-Builder’s Cx Plan. Work to promote project’s achievement of system performance in compliance with the intent of design basis.

    • The SME shall assist in cooperation with company's CxA (Commissioning Agent) to provide effective oversight.

    • Technical Assistance may be requested outside of area of expertise when necessary.

    • Participate in ongoing meetings as required through the commissioning process to

    protect the best interest of the project through substantial completion and acceptance.

    Required Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certifications, Clearances, etc.):

    The SME shall possess professional registration as a mechanical engineer and have a minimum of seven (7) years specialized experience in their disciplines.

    An engineering degree from an accredited college or university (advanced degrees will be viewed more favorably).

    Ability to pass a US government security background clearance (possessing a current, unexpired clearance will be viewed more favorably).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • GSA Courthouse Experience or Equivalent MEP Scope/Commissioning

    • Commissioning Experience and Industry Certification(s)

    o ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 202 - 2018

    o Experience w/ ASHRAE Guideline 0-2005 The Commissioning Process

    o GSA Total Building Commissioning Guide

    o The Whole Building Design Guide

    • The ideal candidate will have very good organizational skills, be able to communicate effectively with the general contractor, designers, and the owner alike, and be able to work with the digital tools of the present day for communication and documentation.

    Employment Type:  Full Time Direct Hire

    Schedule:  100% on site

    Compensation:  up to $150K doe
