    Join the ECI Group's Professional Technical Services Network as a onsite Mechanical Reliability Specialist  This an 18- 24-month duration from award based in the New Orleans (Waggaman) area.   Note: You must be a US Citizen or Permanent US Resident to qualify for this position.

    Job Summary
    The Mechanical Reliability Specialist is responsible for improving the reliability, availability, maintainability through data analysis, preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, root cause failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role works closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to reduce downtime, optimize asset performance, and support operational excellence.


    Key Responsibilities
    Asset Reliability Management

    Asset Reliability Management

    • Monitor asset performance and identify reliability improvement opportunities.
    • Evaluate critical equipment and establish reliability standards.
    • Support lifecycle management of plant assets and equipment.
    • Recommend equipment modifications to improve reliability and maintainability.
    • Assist with day-to-day maintenance and field activities for millwrights.

    Preventive and Predictive Maintenance

    • Develop, review, and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) programs.
    • Implement/support predictive maintenance (PdM) technologies such as:
      • Vibration analysis
      • Thermography
      • Ultrasound testing
      • Lubrication Program
      • Condition monitoring
    • Analyze maintenance effectiveness and adjust maintenance strategies as needed.
    • Ensure maintenance plans align with manufacturer recommendations and operational requirements.

    Analysis, Reporting, and Problem Solving

    • Participate in root cause failure analysis (RCFA) investigations for equipment failures.
    • Identify recurring reliability issues, assist with troubleshooting, and implementing corrective actions.
    • Track and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
    • Analyze reliability and maintenance performance data.
    • Generate reports and dashboards to communicate reliability trends.
    • Recommend data-driven improvement initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities to improve equipment uptime and productivity.

    Maintenance and Operations Support

    • Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams.
    • Collaborate with planners and schedulers to prioritize reliability work.
    • Assist with development of maintenance procedures and work instructions.
    • Reviewing maintenance work orders for trends and recurring issues.

    Project and Equipment Support

    • Participate in capital projects and equipment commissioning activities.
    • Review equipment designs for reliability and maintainability considerations.
    • Support installation, startup, and performance testing of new equipment.
    • Assist with spare parts optimization and inventory management.

    Qualifications
    Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
    Experience
    • 3–7+ years of experience in reliability, maintenance, asset management, or industrial operations; alternatively, 10+ years of field related experience ie millwright, vibe tech, lube tech, etc. is acceptable.
    • Knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP, AMS).
    Reports To: Maintenance & Engineering Manager
    FLSA Status: Full-Time, Exempt
