Job Summary
The Mechanical Representative, Rail Traffic Control monitors CN's wayside detector network, making proactive decisions in real time. The position is the mechanical liaison between Network Operations, Transportation management, and the Signals and Communication (S&C) team. The role identifies defects, trends, and potential safety critical impacts to the network. Furthermore, the incumbent makes determinations to have identified faulty equipment set out for repair or to continue to destination.

Working Conditions
The role has irregular hours (including nights, weekends, holidays). The role requires minimal travel (10%) within Canada and the United States (U.S.) and must be available to travel to locations needing assistance. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress.
