Mechanical Sales Engineer

An engineering company expanding into North America is opening a new office and looking for a Sales Engineer to join as a founding member of the team. This role blends technical engineering support with business development, working closely with clients to understand their needs and coordinating with internal engineering teams to deliver on projects. It is a great fit for someone with a strong mechanical or structural engineering background who wants to help build something from the ground up.

Sales Engineer Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients by understanding their technical needs
- Develop effective proposals based on client requirements
- Support business development activities such as trade shows, networking events, and client meetings
- Serve as a liaison between clients and internal engineering teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Contribute to the establishment and growth of a new office as a founding team member
- Inspect and advise on project deliverables
- Prepare documentation such as client emails and reports
- Travel within the US for client visits and business trips, with occasional trips to Japan


Sales Engineer Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical or structural engineering roles
- At least 3 years of experience in project management or leadership
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and hands-on field experience
- Native English speaker required and bi-lingual in Japanese/English is a plus
