Mechanical Superintendent

GavinHeath is partnering with a client in Cedar Rapids, IA looking to add a Mechanical Superintendent to their team. The role is a Direct Hire position.

Responsibilities:
  • Review project schedules with Superintendents/Foreman.
  • Ensure that critical activities and decisions remain on schedule for the project management team.
  • Oversee field specific activities for industrial construction projects from setup to closeout.
  • Document project field issues that impact budget, quality, or schedule, and provide to the project management team.
  • Responsible for planning, scheduling, employee oversite, and management of industrial mechanical construction projects.
  • Assists Project Manager in coordinating activities of employees engaged in construction process, utilizing knowledge of equipment, techniques, procedures, and specifications. This position is responsible for assisting craft supervision to coordinating activities of workers engaged in construction process, utilizing knowledge of equipment, techniques, procedures, and specifications.
  • Respond to subcontractor requests for field issues that impact budget, quality, or schedule.
  • Supervises the daily work of employees.
  • Ensure all safety and environmental requirements are met.
  • Coordination of all labor, equipment, and subcontractor resources with Project subordinates and other affiliate companies to ensure timely, cost-effective completion of project.
  • Verifies conformance of finished work product, including overseeing compliance with all contract requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in construction of industrial & Commercial projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role overseeing mechanical craft trades.
  • Engineering or Construction Management Degree preferred.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office products.
  • Completion of OSHA 30 or equivalent safety training.
  • Driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with Heavy Bid/HCSS or similar software.
    • Experience with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software.
    • Experience with Viewpoint or similar account software.
