Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) is seeking a Mechanical Field Work Supervisor.
The Mechanical Supervisor leads and directs the daily activities of a team of mechanical maintenance personnel. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all mechanical equipment and systems.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical expertise and strong people management skills. The ideal candidate brings a thorough understanding of rotating and fixed equipment, pneumatic systems, rigging, piping, valves, pumps and industrial maintenance best practices. The Mechanical Supervisor serves as the primary link between the maintenance team and plant operations, ensuring that equipment reliability goals are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. We are seeking a results-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about developing skilled tradespeople.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Adhere to the highest standards of ethical business conduct
- Develop effective working relationships with bargaining unit and non-bargaining unit personnel, demonstrating mutual respect and cooperation.
- Plan/execute multiple, complex field activities with a demonstrated record of successful schedule execution.
- Ensure work packages are technically correct and capable of being performed safely and efficiently.
- Review and approve maintenance technical procedures (preventive maintenance); conduct field validation of technical procedures.
- Coordinate daily work assignments, set priorities, and ensure adequate staffing and skill coverage.
- Oversee and direct all mechanical maintenance activities including troubleshooting, repair, and installation of pumps, compressors, gearboxes, fans, blowers, valves, piping systems, and other rotating and fixed equipment.
- Manage emergency and breakdown maintenance response, coordinating resources to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with maintenance planners and schedulers to develop weekly and outage work schedules.
- Proven experience with preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Must be available for overtime, and emergency callouts as needed.
- May involve shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, and lift to 50 lbs. regularly.
- May require working at heights, in confined spaces, and around heavy machinery.
- Plant environment with exposure to noise, heat, cold, chemicals and RAD.

Required Qualifications
Grade 18:
* High School Diploma or equivalent; and
* Five (5) years of related experience required.

Grade 19:
* High School Diploma or equivalent; and
* Seven (7) years of related experience, with at least one (1) year in a supervisory capacity required.
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.

Grade 20:
* High School Diploma or equivalent; and
* Nine (9) years of related experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory capacity required.
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.

Desired Qualifications
- Understanding of work control procedures and of mechanical operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Previous experience with Bargaining Unit employees, Tank Farm field experience, and experience with Collective Bargain Agreements.

Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.

Hiring Range Minimum: $109,013
Hiring Range Maximum: $166,263
