What You’ll Own

  • Turn customer specs into practical designs for tube-forming and other custom machine projects.
  • Partner with estimating to define cost targets and design-to-cost strategies.
  • Draft concepts for tube-forming tooling and material handling equipment.
  • Develop thorough 3D CAD models of forming tools, dies, machines, and automated systems.
  • Create detail, assembly, and process drawings that are clear and build-ready.
  • Build complete bills of materials and select the right materials/components.
  • Incorporate hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electro‑mechanical devices into designs.
  • Outline manufacturing steps for fabrication, assembly, and integration.
  • Plan and execute testing; confirm fabrication, assembly, and installation methods.
  • Produce documentation: process prints, setup sheets, fabrication drawings, operation manuals, dimensional reports, and more.
  • Field questions from shop and cross-functional teams; keep projects unblocked.
  • Ensure designs meet government regulations and industry guidelines.
  • Train technicians on new tooling and machine operation.
  • Invest in your development through industry learning opportunities.
  • Show up for project tracking meetings, design reviews, and customer status updates.

Your Background

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering preferred (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years designing tools/machines preferred.
  • SolidWorks (or similar 3D CAD) proficiency.
  • Strong communicator—written and verbal.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft software (Office suite, etc.).
  • Skilled at juggling multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Team-focused and able to facilitate collaboration.
  • Self-directed; delivers on time and on budget with minimal oversight.
