Mechanical Technician

Shift Timings: 3rd shift from 11:30PM - 8:00AM M-F

Responsibilities:

• Operate manual and CNC Tool Room machine tools and equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and E.D.M. machines.
• Run one or more machines simultaneously where conditions permit.
• Work independently with minimal supervision and participate in a team environment.
• Build or prepare fixtures and tooling as needed to perform tool room duties.
• Work from blueprints, mechanical drawings, shop sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Design and manufacture tooling and fixtures using CAD and/or CAM.
• Produce drawings of tooling designed by the tool room, including VIN numbers for reference.
• Troubleshoot and assist in tooling and manufacturing problems as needed.
• Interact with other departments, suppliers, and vendors as needed.
• Schedule, track, and report incoming work.
• Write requisitions for supplies, materials, and outside processes as needed.
• Maintain inventory of tool room tooling.
• Assist in training of employees, new processes, and equipment as needed.
• Run short run, difficult production parts, and prototypes.
• Perform preventive maintenance to maintain tool room equipment.
• Provide tool quotes and maintain Visual Factory Board.
• Utilize various means of data recording, such as paper, electronic database, or other software.

Requirements:

• Possess Tool & Die Maker Journeyman’s Card as recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor (O*NET code 51-4111.00).
• Completion of a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a U.S. person as defined by ITAR.
