Job Summary
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for supporting equipment assembly, testing, and maintenance activities to ensure timely delivery of equipment in alignment with operational demands. This role plays a key part in improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a maintenance and production environment.
Job Description
- Perform production tree assembly, valve assembly, and functional testing of equipment
- Utilize torque tools and test pumps for assembly, calibration, and validation processes
- Assist with painting and finishing processes as needed
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and tested in accordance with established maintenance standards and safety protocols
- Follow Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) procedures and standard work practices
- Accurately document maintenance and testing activities, including parts used, labor time, and equipment history
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, improving efficiency, and increasing asset utilization
- Participate in equipment failure investigations when assigned
- Adhere to established operational, safety, and competency management systems
- Shift: Typically 6:00 AM-5:00 PM, 10-12 hour days, including at least one weekend day (schedule may vary)
Skills Required
- Minimum of approximately 2 years of relevant experience
- 5+ years preferred
- Hands-on mechanical experience in an industrial or field environment
- Experience with: Production tree assembly, Valve assembly, Equipment and valve testing
- Proficiency using: Torque tools, Test pumps
- Oil & gas industry experience strongly preferred
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.)
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to safety and quality standards
Education
- Required: High school diploma or GED
Additional requirements
- Full PPE provided (coveralls, hard hat, safety glasses, safety boots)
- Respirator certification required for painting-related tasks if applicable
Pay rate
- $24 - $26 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
