Job Title: Mechanical (Thermal) Design Engineer

Location: Pelzer, SC Onsite

Job Description:

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in thermal, HVAC, and ventilation system design for modular data centers, telecom, or industrial applications. The role will focus on developing mechanical layouts, thermal designs, detailed drawing packages, and supporting system integration and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead thermal, HVAC, and ventilation system design for modular data centers and industrial/telecom modules.
• Develop mechanical layouts, equipment arrangements, ductwork, cable management, and fire suppression designs.
• Perform thermal calculations, thermal transfer assessments, and basic CFD analysis.
• Create and review detailed engineering and construction drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent 3D modeling tools.
• Review mechanical equipment submittals, specifications, and construction drawings.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with structural, electrical, fire suppression, commissioning, and integration teams.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, federal, and building code requirements.
• Support project integration, site reviews, commissioning, testing, and startup activities.
• Provide technical solutions during design, construction, and customer discussions.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience with a thermal/HVAC focus.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other 3D modeling/CAD tools.
• Experience with thermal design, HVAC systems, ventilation, and mechanical layouts.
• Knowledge of construction drawings, equipment specifications, and applicable building codes.
• Experience with modular buildings, data centers, telecom facilities, or industrial systems is preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, project management, and leadership skills.
• PE License is a plus.
