    Job Description:

    Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs.

    CVCC seeks a mission-driven, dynamic professional to serve in the role of Mechatronics faculty and invites qualified candidates who have a passion to support student success and credential completion to apply.

    The successful candidate will: Meet assigned classes regularly; submit required records and reports routinely; teach the prescribed courses of study with the established texts; conduct requisite student conferences; hold required office hours; attend to assigned divisional and College duties; contribute to the development of the program of instruction; adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies, procedures, and regulations; maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization; and advise students.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Classwork in Engineering, Mechatronics or related field

    Experience teaching CTE courses at the post-secondary level

    Electronics/Electrical circuits knowledge and hands-on experience

    Industrial motors and conveyors knowledge and hands-on experience

    Use of DMMs, oscilloscopes, AC/DC power supplies, function generators, and other electronics lab equipment

    Proficient in Canvas LMS

    Proficient in C++ programming

    Rockwell Automation PLC Maintainer Level I Certification

    Project Lead the Way IED and POE Teacher Certification

    Fanuc Robotics Handling Tool Operation and Programming Certification

    Additional Considerations:

    Graduate degree in Engineering, Mechatronics or related field

    Industry experience in industrial automation

    PLC programming and troubleshooting in industrial settings

    Familiarity with PeopleSoft platform

    Proficient using MS Office Products

    Familiarity with CAD SW (Inventor, Fusion 360, Solidworks, etc.)

    Willingness to be highly available to students
