Corning Community College is currently seeking a skilled Mechatronics Technology Faculty to join our team in the Fall 2026 Semester. Tenure track faculty members in the area of Mechatronics Technology within the STEM Division are expected to teach Mechatronics courses starting with Basic Electricity, Digital and Analog circuits, Industrial Electronics, Data Acquisition, PLC's, Motor Control, and Sensors and Actuators. Faculty must be able to use, setup, and program where appropriate instrumentation and test equipment used in the lab courses. Faculty are expected to be able to operate, program, troubleshoot such equipment. Faculty are responsible for teaching a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and updating course materials, grading assignments and assessments, and holding office hours for each course taught to support student learning. Faculty are also expected to advise students on academic progress and career goals.
Courses may be offered in-person, asynchronous online, or synchronous online, depending on departmental needs. Tenure-track faculty are expected to organize, maintain, and revise course content as needed to ensure instructional effectiveness and alignment with departmental and institutional standards.
Occasional meetings at different CCC locations and in the community may be required; travel to conferences and/or recruiting events may be required. Travel to local (within 60 miles) high schools may be required. Ability to adequately see, hear, and have the manual dexterity to perform and monitor classroom lectures, demonstrations and perform other teaching duties. Prolonged time sitting/standing working with computers and monitors, ability to walk/move across campus including walking up and down stairs, ability to lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, repeated motions may include keyboard typing. Typical classroom, office, laboratory/lab space and indoor building environments, occasional outdoor activity may be required. Incumbent must perform the essential duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation. A signing bonus may be offered for high-demand fields. The signing bonus is a stipend and not added to base salary.
