    Position Objective

    This position pays $1,030.00 per credit.

    Clover Park Technical College (CPTC) is seeking a highly-skilled instructor to teach in our Mechatronics program to teach in all levels within our program vertical. We welcome applicants from across the automation ecosystem (operations, maintenance, engineering, integration, manufacturing, and software/enterprise interface). The strongest candidates can point to real deployments-systems they have built, integrated, commissioned, maintained, optimized, or repaired-and can explain the tradeoffs and priorities that matter in industrial environments.

    In this role, you will be responsible for fostering a culture of knowledge, skill collaboration, and creativity where both individual and team growth are prioritized. Apply your industry experience to provide support and mentorship to team members working on customer-facing solutions. Beyond technical guidance, your ability to lead and manage will ensure that the team remains adaptable and continuously improving.     Duties and Tasks (Essential Functions)

    Duty: Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction that builds students' proficiency in mechatronics systems while cultivating the confidence, critical thinking, and workplace

    habits needed for industry success.

    Tasks include:

    • Design and facilitate hands-on learning experiences that guide students in developing practical troubleshooting, integration, installation, and maintenance skills used in industry, all the way up to Industry 4.0 integrated enterprise.
    • Translate complex industry concepts into clear, scaffolded lessons that help students progressively build competence across integrated mechanical, electrical, fluid power, robotic, and control technologies.
    • Coach students through real world problem solving processes, modeling how professionals diagnose failures, evaluate tradeoffs, and make decisions in production settings.
    • Develop and update curriculum and learning materials to ensure students gain current, job ready competencies aligned with industry standards and emerging technologies.
    • Provide individualized feedback and mentoring that supports each student's technical growth, professional habits, and confidence.
    • Cultivate a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive learning environment where students practice teamwork, communication, and workplace behaviors essential for industry success.
