Join our client—a large, well-managed tier-one automotive supplier—in a permanent (direct hire) role in Flint, MI. You’ll own equipment uptime on second shift (Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM–2:00 AM) and earn $33–$36 per hour.
Why this role matters
Every minute of production counts. You’ll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment using predictive and productive maintenance systems to keep the plant on target.
What you’ll do
- Lead shift start up and support launch activity
- Diagnose and resolve issues in hydraulics/pneumatics, robotics, mechanical, welding, and electrical systems
- Work across controls and PLCs (Allen Bradley and Siemens Step 7)
- Execute preventative maintenance and ensure lockout /tagout procedures
- Respond quickly to maintenance calls to the line
- Analyze machine performance, measure results, and recommend improvements
- Own OE – Daily Report entries and down time reporting
- Drive CI’s and participate in LPA’s; report out any continuous improvement
- Maintain parts inventory and document process improvements
- Keep the work area clean and safe; follow mechanical safety requirements
- Collaborate via EOSR/Communication while working with minimal supervision
- All other duties as assigned
What you bring
- High school diploma/GED
- 2+ years in a production environment
- Technical certification in electrical, robotic, mechanical, or fabrication preferred (not required)
- PLC and schematics experience; strong blueprint/schematic reading
- Experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens Step 7
- Forklift/Manlift Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Comfort at heights and in confined spaces
- Strong mechanical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Basic building maintenance aptitude and ability to read building schematics
- Excellent communication; lead independently and be a strong team player
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; disciplined documentation habits
