We are opening a new AI Engineering Campus in Austin, which will play a central role in Graphcore's work building the future of AI computing. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The mechanical engineer will work in a project team delivering complex AI data center hardware.  The primary responsibility is to ensure the overall product functionality and meet all applicable technical mechanical specifications.  The engineer will support the overall mechanical solution, creation of specifications, design review and qualification, and testing and validation.

    Youll be responsible for designing, developing, testing, modifying and evaluating the mechanical design.  As part of the technical function, you will be responsible in working with select ODM vendors to manage the product mechanical specification, development schedule, meet various deliverables, resolve technical issues, and ensure product meets specification, cost and quality goals.  You will be responsible in guiding and directing ODM vendors to deliver mechanical designs, implementation, monitor testing, review cost and review technical design information to provide clear direction to ODM.  In addition, you will also be working with third party vendors and suppliers to ensure product features are achieved.  

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum 2 to 5 years experience using PTC Creo as a design tool.
    • Ability to drive mechanical design aspects including PCB design, cable modeling, thermal solutions, and electro-mechanical packaging.
    • Experience working with thermal engineers developing high density, high power, liquid cooling solutions and a strong awareness of thermal management challenges.
    • Experience working with other cross-functional teams architecting complex rack level data center hardware solutions.
    • Extensive experience designing sheet metal, cast and plastic injection parts.
    • Experience effectively dealing with conflict.
    • Communicates well verbally, in writing, and graphically.
    • Ability to establish clear goals and formulate plans to achieve them.
    • Good root-cause analysis, tolerance analysis, FEA and problem-solving skills.
    • Perform DFM and DFA analysis.
    • Works independently and as part of a team.
    • Excited about technology and have the desire to learn new tasks and technologies.
