- Schedule Notes: Weekend rotation required; floating may be expected based on unit needs
Job Requirements- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience or acute care RN experience preferred
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Ability to perform basic patient assessments and provide general medical-surgical nursing care
- Experience with wound care, tracheostomy care, ostomy care, drains, and chest tubes
- Comfort caring for patients with strokes, seizures, dialysis needs, and PCA pumps
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in a patient-centered healthcare environment
Responsibilities- Provide safe, compassionate care to adult medical-surgical patients
- Complete bedside shift report, safety checks, and ongoing patient assessments
- Manage post-operative patients, including amputations, ostomies, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs
- Support patients requiring Heparin drips and other routine Med/Surg interventions
- Maintain strong infection prevention practices, including CVC and Foley monitoring
- Follow fall prevention protocols and medication scanning procedures for all medications, including controlled substances
- Collaborate with nurses, techs, and leadership to promote positive patient outcomes
- Float within scope as needed while maintaining high standards of care
