Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a correctional facility setting requiring 2 years of recent acute care experience and prior correctional experience.

Details

• Correctional health services unit within a correctional facility
• Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• No block scheduling accommodations available
• Every other weekend requirement, equating to 2 weekends per month
• Mandatory float facility, with floating required within scope to meet facility needs across a variety of units
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience required
• Correctional nursing experience required
• Proof of COVID vaccination required (booster not required)
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care within a correctional facility setting
• May float outside primary area of competency, with team-based support model utilized in such cases
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Free parking available on a first come, first served basis
• RTO limited to 5 days maximum with no more than 2 consecutive days off
• No RTO permitted on weekends, holidays, or the day before or after a holiday
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Lab work and compliance documentation must be completed within 72 hours of accepting an offer
