A Medical Technologist opportunity is available in Largo, FL with a hospital laboratory team. This is a full-time night shift role supporting stat and routine clinical laboratory operations across Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology sections.
The role. Working under the direction of a Laboratory Supervisor, Manager, or Director, the Medical Technologist performs stat and routine clinical laboratory testing across multiple technical discipline areas, applying theoretical concepts of laboratory medicine with independent judgment to ensure timely and accurate results. Day-to-day responsibilities include executing quality control procedures per protocol, interpreting and correlating patient results — including delta checks — and taking corrective action when results fall outside acceptable guidelines. The technologist handles critical laboratory specimens and results according to established procedures, performs proficiency testing within required timeframes, and assists in meeting regulatory agency requirements such as CAP. In the absence of a supervisor, this role assumes appropriate departmental responsibility and helps manage pending workload to ensure continuity of care.
