Amazon"s Global Operations Learning and Development (GOLD) organization is hiring a Media Designer to serve as a core member of our shared media production team. This role supports multiple functions across GOLD, including GOPXT Communications, Learning Design and Development, and Executive Communications. You will produce high-quality video, motion graphics, animation, and visual design assets that serve leadership communications, learning content, and brand storytelling.

This is a hands-on, cross-functional role. You bring creative versatility and technical depth, operate independently, and deliver at high volume while maintaining brand consistency and quality standards. You work comfortably across the full spectrum of creative production: one day directing a VP leadership video on location, the next building motion graphics for a marketing campaign or designing reusable learning assets. You stay current on AI-assisted production tools and apply them to accelerate workflows.

The position is based in our Seattle studio and may require up to 50% travel for on-location production.

Key job responsibilities

  • Film, direct, edit, and produce video content across executive communications, training productions, marketing campaigns, and organizational announcements
  • Operate as a self-sufficient producer: manage equipment, filming, lighting, audio, and post-production workflows from concept through final delivery
  • Create motion graphics, animation, and visual assets that support brand storytelling and learning content across GOLD
  • Establish and maintain brand guidelines and visual identity standards for media assets across the organization
  • Design media content as modular, reusable components that can be repurposed across multiple audiences and channels
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across GOPXT Communications, Learning Design and Development to translate business needs into compelling visual solutions
  • Apply AI-assisted production tools and workflows to accelerate content creation, editing, and asset management
  • Contribute to team capability development by sharing expertise, building repeatable templates, and raising the quality bar for media production

A day in the life

As a Media Designer, no two days are the same. You solve complex design challenges across multiple mediums, filming a VP update in the morning, editing a training video or building motion graphics by afternoon. You work across the full production spectrum, serve multiple teams, and adapt quickly to shifting priorities. This role requires deep expertise in videography, editing, graphic design, motion graphics, and art direction. You bring creative solutions to ambiguous problems, take ownership from brief to final delivery, and continuously raise the bar with new tools and techniques.

About the team

GOLD"s media team operates as a shared creative service across Global Operations Learning and Development. We support executive communications, learning content, marketing campaigns, and organizational storytelling at scale. Our team thrives on creative problem-solving, iterates fast, and applies emerging technologies to produce work that raises the bar for our business partners.

We are in the middle of a multi-year transformation. This hire will help us build a more capable, AI-enabled, modular content operation. You will not just fill a seat. You will help shape what our team becomes.

Amazon.com Inc

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
