As a Senior Associate, Media Strategy & Planning, you will be a critical bridge between media strategy and execution across our performance marketing ecosystem. You will oversee the development and quality of media plans, ensuring they align to campaign objectives, leverage the right channels, and allocate budget effectively. You will manage day-to-day workflow across a high volume of campaigns, coordinating closely with analytics, creative, and channel execution teams to deliver on-time, high-quality launches. You will also act as a hands-on coach for junior team members, translating leadership direction into clear guidance and elevating the quality and consistency of outputs. In addition, you will help scale the planning function by identifying process improvements, standardizing workflows, and driving more efficient ways of working across the media organization. This is an opportunity to shape how Wayfair invests media dollars and reaches customers at scale.
What You’ll Do:
- Review and refine media plans, budgets, and deliverables produced by Associates and Analysts to ensure accuracy, quality, and alignment to strategy.
- Ensure consistency in planning assumptions, channel roles, and budget allocation across campaigns, proactively identifying gaps or errors and course-correcting.
- Own day-to-day workflow for 20+ concurrent campaigns, managing timelines, deliverables, and dependencies across stakeholders.
- Act as the central point of coordination across planning, analytics, and execution teams to keep campaigns on track from brief through launch and optimization.
- Translate high-level direction from team leadership into clear, actionable planning guidance, campaign frameworks, and measurement approaches.
- Ensure campaign plans, test-and-learn roadmaps, and KPIs are aligned to defined objectives and success metrics.
- Provide hands-on coaching, feedback, and QA support to junior team members to reduce ramp time and elevate the quality and consistency of outputs.
- Partner with Analytics, Creative, and channel owners to resolve executional blockers and ensure cohesive media, creative, and measurement plans.
- Identify inefficiencies across planning, trafficking, and reporting workflows and introduce process improvements that increase team throughput and consistency.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Advertising, or a related field.
- Experience in media planning or media strategy, ideally within a media agency or brand-side marketing team.
- Experience managing or mentoring at least 1–2 people, with a track record of elevating team output and supporting development.
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with media planning/performance tools such as Nielsen NMI or similar platforms.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (e.g., Slides, Sheets, Docs) and Google BigQuery (GBQ) or comparable data tools.
- Demonstrated strength in budget management and reconciliation, including managing media investments against performance goals.
- Exceptional organization and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize across a high volume of campaigns, timelines, and stakeholders.
- Clear, concise communication skills and comfort operating as a bridge between strategy, analytics, and execution teams.
