Job Title: Media Prep and Lab Services Technician

Pay Rate: $25/hour
Duration: 6 Months
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Job Description

Support Media Prep and Lab Services operations by preparing microbiological media, cell culture media, reagents, buffers, and solutions for R&D laboratories. Perform glassware cleaning, sterilization, equipment preparation, and distribution. Maintain inventory levels using FIFO procedures and update labware delivery requests. Operate autoclaves, laboratory washers, ovens, tanks, and benchtop instruments while adhering to SOPs, cGMP requirements, and laboratory safety procedures.

This role requires driving a company vehicle to pick up and deliver glassware across campus. A cleared Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is mandatory.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Required Skills

• Experience in media preparation, glassware operations, or a related laboratory support environment.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; must pass MVR clearance.

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.

• Ability to work onsite five days per week and accommodate schedule changes and overtime as needed.

• Must wear non-slip, steel-toe boots by the start date; purchase will be reimbursed.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience preparing microbiological media, cell culture media, reagents, buffers, and laboratory solutions.

• Familiarity with autoclaves, laboratory washers, ovens, sterilization equipment, and benchtop instruments.

• Knowledge of cGMP documentation, SOPs, FIFO inventory management, and laboratory 5S practices.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
