Neumann Media is Neumann University's two-track media operation: student media and professional productions. It produces content seen across the university and beyond.
Neumann Media seeks a Media Producer who conceives, shoots, and delivers video content across the full range of Neumann Media's work - studio, field, and social formats - for internal and external audiences. The role works alongside the Executive Director and the department's other Producer to meet the university's video and communications needs, moving between longer-form studio work and fast-turnaround social content. Beyond production, the Media Producer oversees the department's equipment rental operation and supervises student production assistants on set.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Production
Conceive, shoot, and edit video content across institutional formats, including enrollment marketing, advancement and mission programming, event coverage, presidential communications, and social content.
Work across studio and field environments - scripted interviews, event recaps, promotional reels, OTT content, and short-form social video.
Operate professional camera systems, lighting, and audio across varying shoot conditions.
Edit and finish content for delivery, including titling and motion graphics as needed.
Support live studio productions and remote broadcasts as assigned.
Department Operations
Oversee the equipment rental operation - inventory, maintenance, check-out/check-in, and per-job logging of gear, media cards, and accessories - directing student work-study assistants in day-to-day execution.
Take part in client intake meetings, pre-production planning, and shot list development as assigned by the Executive Director.
Cross-train with the department's other producer on photography scheduling, student coordination, and all operational areas of the agency.
Student Development
Supervise assigned student production assistants on set - lighting, studio operations, editing, and on-set problem solving.
Mentor and train student production assistants in camera operation, lighting, audio, editing, and professional conduct. Help students build social reels, short-form content, and production workflows through agency assignments.
Conduct equipment safety and orientation training for new student workers as needed.
