Actuarial Manager | Hybrid | Multiple U.S. Locations
A leading healthcare consulting firm is seeking an Actuarial Manager to support and lead client engagements focused on Medicaid financing, rate development, and healthcare program strategy.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced health actuary who enjoys balancing technical actuarial work with client-facing consulting and team leadership. The successful candidate will work closely with government agencies, health plans, and internal stakeholders to deliver actuarial analyses that support critical healthcare programs nationwide.
Responsibilities
Lead client engagements related to Medicaid financing, rate development, and healthcare program initiatives
Manage overall project delivery, strategy, financial evaluations, and plan design recommendations
Perform and review complex actuarial analyses, financial models, and cost projections
Develop and present client reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, helping to resolve project challenges and deliver high-quality service
Review work completed by junior team members to ensure actuarial accuracy and methodological soundness
Mentor and guide actuarial staff while supporting their professional development
Assist with business development initiatives, proposal responses, and growth opportunities within existing client relationships
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
ASA, FSA, and/or MAAA designation required
10+ years of health actuarial experience
3+ years of Medicaid actuarial leadership experience
Strong understanding of Medicaid funding, capitation rate development, and actuarial methodologies
Experience managing client relationships and complex projects in a consulting environment
Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced setting
