Medicaid QA Tester

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Medicaid QA Tester for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. The candidate will support enterprise technology initiatives by developing and executing comprehensive test plans that ensure software solutions meet business, functional, and quality standards. The candidate will collaborate with project managers, business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to identify defects, validate system functionality, and contribute to the successful delivery of complex healthcare technology projects.

Required Qualifications of the Medicaid QA Tester:

• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Healthcare, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience translating business requirements or policy documentation into detailed test cases and test scenarios.
• At least 2 years of experience performing manual software testing, including functional, regression, smoke, usability, and boundary testing.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting healthcare operations, preferably within Medicaid or other government healthcare programs.
• Experience creating, executing, and maintaining test cases, test scripts, and testing documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Candidates must be South Carolina residents or be willing to relocate to South Carolina prior to the start of employment at their own expense.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Medicaid QA Tester:

• Experience with enterprise-level or large-scale business application implementations.
• Experience using QA and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies.
• Technical, Quality Assurance, or Project Management certifications are a plus.
• Experience supporting healthcare modernization or government technology initiatives.

Responsibilities of the Medicaid QA Tester:

• Develop, execute, and maintain manual test cases and test scripts based on business, functional, and technical requirements.
• Validate system functionality, document test results, and identify, track, and retest software defects through resolution.
• Maintain traceability between business requirements, system designs, and testing artifacts to support quality and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure software solutions meet business and technical expectations.
• Produce testing documentation, status reports, and quality metrics while supporting defect triage and quality assurance activities.
• Contribute to software quality throughout the project lifecycle by following established testing methodologies and software development standards.

Work Location: Hybrid schedule based in Columbia, South Carolina with four days onsite and one day remote each week.
