    Description

    US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Temporary Nuclear Medicine Assistant to join our team at Orion Medical in Houston TX

    Responsibilities:

    • Treats all patients with dignity, respect and preserves patient privacy; provides direct patient care.
    • Prepares consent forms and assists with patients on both nuclear medicine and PET daily schedules.
    • Provides patient education on procedure to be performed; obtains informed consent.
    • Carries out physician's orders; assists with various aspects of the nuclear medicine examination, including IV injection and stress treadmill operation.
    • Documents EMR timely of each examination.
    • Assists with patient scheduling; ensures proper insurance authorization obtained prior to performance of exam.
    • Adheres to OSHA PPE & company safety guidelines in providing patient care; maintains clean exam rooms and equipment.
    • Performs nursing function and other duties outside of department in absence of patient exams.
    • Maintains and re-stocks clinical supplies; notifies appropriate personnel of inventory for purchasing.
    • Perform any other services deemed reasonable by physician or supervisor.

    Requirements:

    • Certified Medical Assistant
    • BLS & ACLS certification
    • Minimum of 1 year experience
    • Previous professional training to perform intravenous injections.
    • Training in nuclear medicine procedures is preferred but not required
