Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting both the front and back office, including greeting and rooming patients, scheduling, answering phones, taking vitals, drawing blood, administering vaccines, and providing additional clinical support wherever needed. Maintaining a collaborative relationship with the center's staff is a key ingredient to success in this position.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of medical assistant experience (in addition to an externship)
• Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred
• Phlebotomy/venipuncture and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience required
• Attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively with patients and strong computer skills required
• You should want to work in an environment where health education and outreach is important to you and challenges you to make a difference

• Home Med participation? Not at this time
• Any other skills/licensures/requirements: W/C, Occ health background and PC
• Occupational health? Yes
• Workers Comp? Yes
• Is women's health required for temp/locum coverage? Not necessarily but a plus
• Health center staffing model: 1:1 the first 10 days, then a receptionist added on

• How many blood draws did the candidate perform in the last 6 months?
• Does the candidate have recent experience in scheduling appointments?
• Does the candidate have recent experience in taking/recording vital signs?
• Does the candidate have recent experience in rooming patients?
• Does the candidate have a current BLS or CPR, if no when do you expect the candidate to obtain it?
• Is your candidate experienced with EKG testing (preferred)
• Does your candidate have experience with Point of Care Testing within the past 6 months?
• Does your candidate have Athena-EMR experience?
