Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will collect patient information, call in the medications and orders, process patient admissions, and be responsible for the general organization and maintenance of patient records. The ideal candidate is highly organized with excellent attention to detail. 


Responsibilities 
  • Follow all clinic procedures in the accurate maintenance of patient records
  • Triage the patients
  • Ensure all patient paperwork is completed and submitted in an accurate and timely manner
  • File patient medical records and information
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all patient medical records and information
  • Call in prescriptions and orders that the doctor and NP requests
  • Other administrative and clerical duties as assigned
  • Answers phone calls, follows up with patients 
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a gastroenterology Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and administrative processes
  • Familiarity with information management programs, Microsoft Office, and other computer programs
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) would be an asset.
