The Non-Certified Medical Assistant Apprentice will be working in the clinic under the supervision of a Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse preceptor, Registered Nurse, or licensed Provider. Will assist RN, Physician and other providers with direct patient care in the Primary Care Clinic, working in accordance with Tamarack Health standards of practice and by adhering to established policies/procedures. Will perform identified procedures individually once competencies have been demonstrated. The apprentice will be enrolled concurrently in an accredited 1-year CMA program or ICATAP Apprenticeship Program.
Responsibilities & Duties
Assist with patient intake, including rooming, vitals, medical history, and documentation
Respond to urgent situations appropriately and perform additional duties as needed
Maintain exam room cleanliness, supplies, and equipment readiness
Manage patient records, prescription refills, and insurance verifications
Support physicians with exams, procedures, treatments, and patient education
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Enrollment in an accredited 1 year CMA program (through Northwood Technical College or similar) OR ICATAP Apprenticeship Program (after hire)
