Under the direction of a RN/LPN or practitioner performs basic patient care activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Obtain and document patient vitals. • Perform bedside testing. • Perform basic nursing procedures such as oral care, perineal/foley care, non-sterile soaks, or thermal applications. • Ensure cleanliness of office and examination rooms. • Clean and store equipment. • Maintain supply inventory and re-stock as required. • Perform basic clerical duties as needed.

• Knowledge of basic nursing and patient care.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - High school diploma or equivalent; plus specialized, short-term training in basic patient care.
Work Experience - clinic setting preferred.
Training - Formal nursing assistant and/or medical assistant training required.
License/Certification - Certification in Nurse Assisting or Certification in Medical Assisting preferred.
ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
