    Company Overview

    Summit Spine and Joint Centers (SSJC) is on track to become the largest comprehensive spine and joint care provider in the Southeast while providing clinical and surgical services to our patients. Integrated Pain Solutions, PLLC is the North Carolina division of SSJC with over 10 clinics throughout North Carolina and growing. We excel in providing quality care to all our patients and are trendsetters in the field through our multi-modality treatment options and innovative care delivery models. We are seeking qualified individuals to join our team and provide exceptional patient care.

    Hours of operation vary between locations - starting at 7:30am

    Travel Requirements:
    This position requires regular travel between our Southern Pines, Asheboro, Fayetteville, and Laurinburg, NC clinic locations. Mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with company policy for eligible travel.

    Job Duties

    • Interview patients and obtain medical histories, including medications, allergies, past medical history, surgical history, family history, and social history.
    • Measure and document vital signs and other pertinent clinical information in the patient's medical record.
    • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient examinations and in-office procedures.
    • Provide both pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including patient preparation, postoperative assessments, and discharge instructions.
    • Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, procedure preparation, postoperative expectations, and aftercare instructions.
    • Schedule patient appointments, follow-up visits, imaging, procedures, and surgeries as directed.
    • Assist with fluoroscopy (C-arm) procedures and maintain proficiency in medical assistant/fluoroscopy workflow while ensuring radiation safety protocols are followed.
    • Prepare examination and procedure rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and appropriately equipped prior to patient visits.
    • Gather appropriate documentation and obtain required signatures to assist providers in treatment decisions.
    • Ensure incoming medical records are received, reviewed, and appropriately documented in the patient's chart before the visit.
    • Relay clinical instructions and medication orders to pharmacies via electronic medical record, phone, or fax.
    • Answer phones, relay messages to providers, and return patient phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
    • Utilize basic office equipment, including telephones, scanners, copiers, fax machines, and electronic medical records.
    • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation.
    • Demonstrate excellent customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.
    • Exercise diplomacy, professionalism, and compassion when interacting with patients, families, coworkers, vendors, and providers.
    • Effectively multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
    • Maintain professional composure while managing routine workplace stressors and patient-facing responsibilities.
    • Exercise sound judgment, maintain appropriate workplace boundaries, protect confidential patient and business information, and follow established supervisory, safety, and escalation procedures.
    • Contribute to team success by assisting with additional duties as assigned.

    Education

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Some college coursework preferred.

    Experience

    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a medical office or clinical setting.
    • Ability to type at least 25 words per minute.
    • Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records preferred.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
    • Experience with pre-operative and post-operative patient care strongly preferred.
    • Experience assisting with fluoroscopy procedures or working in pain management, orthopedics, neurosurgery, or a surgical specialty is preferred.

    Certification/Training

    • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
    • Current BLS/CPR certification preferred.
    • Fluoroscopy (MA/Fluoro) certification or eligibility to obtain certification is preferred where required by state regulations.
