Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures
Perform back-office clinical tasks such as injections, EKGs, phlebotomy, and specimen collection (as applicable and within scope)
Prepare exam rooms, maintain supplies, and ensure proper sterilization of instruments
Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Follow infection control, safety, and HIPAA guidelines
Coordinate with front office staff and clinical team to ensure smooth patient flow
Provide patient education as directed by the provider
Perform other clinical duties as assigned
Medical Assistant certification or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Previous back-office medical assistant experience preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable and flexible to accommodate evening and Saturday shifts
