Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of physicians and clinical staff, the Procedure Technician assists with patient care activities, examinations, and procedures in a clinical setting. This role promotes efficient patient flow, supports quality care delivery, and performs various clinical and clerical support functions while adhering to company policies, compliance standards, and our Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities:
Essential Responsibilities
- Sterilize instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Prepare surgical trays based on physician preferences.
- Obtain and organize patient records and documentation prior to procedures.
- Escort patients to and from exam and treatment rooms.
- Obtain and witness patient consents as required.
- Prepare patients for procedures and treatments.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
- Print and review medication lists with patients.
- Record patient information, including:
- Vital signs
- Height and weight
- Allergies
- Medication updates
- Notify physicians or nursing staff of abnormal vital signs or significant patient concerns.
- Maintain exam and procedure rooms in accordance with infection prevention and disinfection standards.
- Stock treatment and exam rooms and order supplies as needed.
- Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential preferred.
