Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role within a small team, supporting patient care by managing vital signs, electronic health records, scheduling appointments, and coordinating between patients and providers. Reporting to the Office or Nurse Manager, the Medical Assistant works independently and uses strong communication skills to ensure smooth clinical operations and excellent patient experience. Part-Time Tuesdays and Thursdays 9am-5:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record vital signs accurately
• Manage electronic health records (EHR) efficiently
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with providers
• Educate patients regarding treatment protocols and medications
• Process prior authorizations for prescribed treatments
• Administer medication injections as required
• Handle medication refills in collaboration with providers
• Facilitate clear communication between patients and healthcare team

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in medical assisting
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR)
• Skills in measuring vital signs
• Experience with patient scheduling
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Effective time management skills
