Medical Assistant

Virginia Pediatric Group, a premier provider of family-centered pediatric care since 1982, is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our professional team. Based in our Fairfax office, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced specialist with a passion for accuracy and patient support to contribute to a practice that has served Northern Virginia for over 40 years.

Duties

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in a clinic setting.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for any adverse reactions.
• Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and medical histories .
• Maintain accurate patient records , including coding for billing purposes.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
• Provide education to patients regarding their treatment plans and medication administration.
• Collaborate with Medical staff to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Support dermatology procedures by preparing necessary instruments and materials.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role within a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare team.
• Familiarity with coding practices related to outpatient services is beneficial.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant is required/preferred.

Must be able to reliably commute between each of our facilities, when needed (Fairfax/ Herndon/ Aldie/ Great Falls).
