Cornerstone Family Practice & Urgent Care is seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant for our busy outpatient family practice.
This position is essential to safe patient care and efficient clinical workflow. The successful candidate will room patients accurately, anticipate clinical needs, communicate professionally, and complete responsibilities with minimal supervision. We value someone who is organized, accountable, calm under pressure, and interested in growing with our practice.
Schedule- Monday through Thursday
- 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities- Prepare for the clinical day and keep exam rooms stocked and ready.
- Room patients efficiently and accurately.
- Document vital signs, chief complaints, medications, allergies, histories, and other required information.
- Perform medication reconciliation and report discrepancies.
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during visits and procedures.
- Administer injections and immunizations according to orders and office protocols.
- Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing, including documentation and quality control.
- Collect and process non-blood specimens; routine phlebotomy is not required.
- Clean, disinfect, restock, and turn over exam rooms promptly.
- Document accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record.
- Manage patient messages, refill requests, referrals, prior authorizations, orders, and follow-up tasks.
- Promptly route urgent or abnormal clinical concerns to the provider.
- Communicate professionally with patients, staff, pharmacies, laboratories, insurers, and outside offices.
- Follow HIPAA, infection-control, safety, confidentiality, and office policies.
- Monitor supplies and report shortages before items are depleted.
- Identify and address problems before they disrupt patient flow.
- Complete assigned duties and outstanding tasks before the end of each workday.
- Assist team members while remaining accountable for assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications- Previous medical assistant experience in family medicine, internal medicine, urgent care, or another busy outpatient setting strongly preferred.
- Medical Assistant certification or registration preferred.
- Current BLS certification preferred.
- Experience with injections, immunizations, EKGs, and point-of-care testing.
- Electronic medical record experience; eClinicalWorks is a plus.
- Familiarity with refill requests, referrals, prior authorizations, patient messages, and clinical documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and patient-service skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, follow protocols, accept feedback, and work with minimal supervision.
- Professional, dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Verifiable relevant employment and experience.
The
successful candidate will take ownership, follow through without repeated reminders, recognize concerns requiring immediate attention, maintain accuracy under pressure, and communicate respectfully. Personal disagreements must not affect patient care or teamwork. Duties must be performed within the medical assistant's scope and office protocols.
Compensation: $14.00-$17.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills.
