Pediatric Medical Assistant Float
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team 5 days per week to cover shifts for Medical Assistants who are on vacation or out sick.
Duties:
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient care and treatment
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Administer preventative health screenings and immunizations as directed by healthcare providers
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens
- Follow OSHA standards regarding bloodborne pathogens and practice Universal Precautions
- At the direction of the Physician, may be asked to complete billing information
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment
- Schedule appointments and manage patient records
- Provide patient education and instructions for at-home care
- Complete tasks delegated by other care team members (nurse, physician, case manager, etc.)
- Protect the confidentiality of patient information by preventing release, both verbally and in writing
- Cross train to be able to check patients in, check insurance eligibility, collect co-pays (will train)
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a medical assistant program or certification
- Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
