Medical Assistant Float – Pediatrics Department

Granger Medical Clinic is looking for a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our Pediatric team at our Riverton location. In this role, you will provide essential support to four pediatric providers, working closely with physicians and clinical staff to ensure exceptional patient care while helping our clinic run smoothly and efficiently. This is a dynamic, collaborative position where your contributions directly impact the health and well-being of our young patients.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Pay Range:$20.00/hour

Position Overview

As a Medical Assistant in Pediatrics, you will play a vital role in supporting providers and ensuring a positive experience for patients and their families. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting telephone triage and communicating with parents/guardians
  • Managing insurance authorizations and prior approvals
  • Recording vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, height, weight, etc.)
  • Administering immunizations
  • Performing phlebotomy and specimen collection
  • Preparing and maintaining exam rooms
  • Accurately documenting patient information

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED, REQUIRED
  • Medical Assistant Certification, preferred
  • 1 year of experience in a medical office setting, preferred
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
  • Dependable, flexible, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills

Essential Duties

  • Record and update patient demographics
  • Process prior authorizations and insurance documentation
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers as needed
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care and scheduling
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent use of computers and office equipment (repetitive motion)
  • Work performed in an indoor, climate-controlled environment
