Job Summary:
Tryfacta is seeking a Medical Assistant for our client in Pinal Couty, AZ. This is a temporary contract assignment. If you meet the qualifications listed below and are interested, please Apply Now!

Position Title: Medical Assistant
Location: Locations will primarily be Casa Grande and Maricopa, with occasional coverage in San Tan Valley. There may also be times when coverage is needed at any of our Public Health Clinic Locations.
Duration: 6 months.
Work Schedule: Variable, Monday-Friday, based on clinic staffing needs. Typical clinic hours range from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break. 40 hours a week.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide customer service, clerical support, data entry, and basic bookkeeping functions for PHSD clinical programs and perform duties within scope of authority and training and in compliance with County policies.
  • Provide information and assistance to clients, assist customers with applications, government forms, and other documents and explain County policies and procedures.
  • Review applications and other documents for compliance to rules and regulations.
  • Review and update files and distribute related paperwork and maintain records and filing systems.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct callers to the correct person or work group and take messages and relays as necessary.
  • Perform cashier duties in accordance with standard office procedures and County policy, receive and record payments, prepare and issue receipts, and balance daily work and monies received.
  • Provide educational material and personalized information to clients during pre-screening procedures.
  • Assist the providers, take vital signs, and conducting of test related to Reproductive Health under the direction of the supervising provider to include testing for pregnancy, syphilis, HIV, chlamydia, and gonorrhea. Assist clients to access other health care and community services programs.
  • Assist professional staff with clinic setup and patient examinations as directed.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

To be considered for this position, you should have:

Skills
  • Knowledge of regional community service agencies and community resources.
  • Knowledge of basic principles of accounting, record keeping, and records management.
  • Skill in preparing and maintaining accurate records and generating reports.
  • Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing standard and specialized software.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Education and Certifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must have a Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved and accredited medical assistant program.
  • Possess a current CPR certification, record of Hepatitis B immunizations, tuberculosis (TB) skin test or chest X-Ray.
  • One (1) year of experience in Public Health or medical field.
  • Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may substitute for the minimum requirements.


Mandatory Requirement:
  • Clinical experience shall consist of previous experience in immunizations, primary care, or women's health/OB-GYN is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) with experience using medical terminology.

Physical Demands:
  • The work is medium and requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • The work also requires the ability to crouch, feel, finger, grasp, handle, reach, kneel, lift, perform repetitive motion, hear, speak, stand, stoop, walk, and demonstrate mental and visual acuity.
