MEDICAL ASSISTANT - Interventional Pain Management

We are looking for a medical assistant with experience in pain management to join our growing team!

As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical back office. You will support the doctor and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care. Organization/time management and effective communication are paramount. The target is to complete all duties accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner.

Preferences:

  • EMR (NextGen) systems: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Pain Management experience a must

Responsibilities:

  • Room patients, obtain vitals, patient history and reason for seeking care.
  • Process telephone messages.
  • Follow prescription refill procedures.
  • Maintain patient records confidentiality
  • Prep exam rooms and assist in procedures
  • Obtain lab/x-ray reports from referring or primary care physicians.
  • Schedule appointments for Follow ups and Procedures
  • Medication authorization

Travel to the Granbury Office on a rotation schedule (Reliable Transportation is a MUST)

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.

2. Maintain an organized work area

3. Perform basic triage per specific office protocol procedures.

4. Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.

5. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management.

6. Effectively cope with typical job stress. We care for a sensitive population.

7. Document work processes as required.

8. Prepare patients with all clinical and administrative information needed for surgery as directed by the physician.

9. Follow safety and infection control procedures at all times by maintaining individual protective protocols to radiation exposure (aprons, shields, badges, etc.); following standards outlined in the Policy & Procedures Manual.

10. Maintain all procedure room supplies and inventory including inspecting current stock, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders.

11. Perform other duties as assigned.
