Position Overview:
The Medical Assistant/Front Desk Reception role is a dual position that blends clinical support with administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills. This role is crucial in ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for our patients. There will be some travel to Skilled Nursing Facilities involved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients warmly and manage front desk operations, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient inquiries.- Assist dermatologists with clinical procedures and examinations, ensuring patient comfort and safety.- Prepare examination rooms and ensure that appropriate supplies are available and sterile.- Maintain accurate patient records by entering information in electronic medical records (EMR) systems efficiently and confidentially.- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring all necessary forms are completed and processed.- Coordinate referrals to specialists as required and handle insurance verifications and billing inquiries.- Provide patient education on dermatological procedures, skin care products, and post-treatment care instructions.- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation of the practice.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) is preferred.- Previous experience in a medical office, ideally within a dermatology practice, is highly desirable.- Proficient with EMR systems and basic office software (Microsoft Office Suite).- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong commitment to patient care.- Ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.- Friendly, professional demeanor with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
