Medical Assistant – Full Time

Northwest Indiana Occupational Pain and Wellness Center is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for our Gary, Indiana office.

Responsibilities:

• \n
• Room patients and obtain vital signs, including manual blood pressure
• \n
• Prepare and administer Toradol injections
• \n
• Draw up medications for trigger point injections
• \n
• Collect and process urine drug screens
• \n
• Prepare upcoming patient schedules, including identifying patients due for copays and drug screens
• \n
• Prepare superbills for upcoming appointments, including the appropriate diagnosis codes
• \n
• Maintain accurate patient documentation
• \n
• Keep exam rooms stocked, clean, and ready for patients
• \n
• Assist with maintaining an organized and efficient patient flow
• \n

What we're looking for:

• \n
• Medical Assistant training or education
• \n
• Ability to accurately take a manual blood pressure
• \n
• Comfortable drawing up and administering injections
• \n
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and diagnosis codes
• \n
• Comfortable working with an electronic medical record
• \n
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to multitask
• \n
• Able to follow instructions and work independently
• \n
• Professional and respectful with patients and coworkers
• \n
• Willing to learn and be trained
• \n
• Previous experience is preferred but not required
• \n
