Medical Assistant - Cardiology

Join a growing Cardiology team dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care!

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support a busy outpatient Cardiology practice. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and is passionate about providing exceptional customer service and quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Room and prepare patients for provider examinations and procedures
  • Obtain and document vital signs, patient histories, and concerns
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures and patient care activities
  • Administer medications as directed by a licensed provider
  • Manage patient messages, appointment scheduling, referrals, and documentation
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records
  • Prepare and stock exam rooms, clinical supplies, and equipment
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and clinical staff
  • Follow all HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (or equivalent military training)
  • Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months of Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient clinic
  • Cardiology experience preferred
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Understanding of CPT and ICD coding concepts

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Grass Valley, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
