Dean's Professional Services is now hiring for qualified Medical Assistant to work in Houston, TX for a large Healthcare Organization.
Medical Assistant Job Details:
Location: 6445 Main St. Houston TX, 77030
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm
Starting Pay Rate: $21.00 Hourly + (Based on experience)

Job Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient examinations, procedures, treatments, diagnostic studies, and dressing changes
- Obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, medication reviews, and medical and social history as appropriate
- Accurately document patient care, diagnostic measurements, treatments, and procedures in the EMR
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms and maintain medical equipment and supplies
- Sterilize instruments and equipment under appropriate supervision
- Monitor and report patient observations, conditions, and concerns to physicians or nursing staff
- Assist with patient follow-up regarding medications, laboratory and imaging results, referrals, and recommended care
- Schedule patient appointments and assist with eligibility and medical necessity verification as needed
- Maintain patient privacy, confidentiality, and safety at all times
- Stock exam rooms, monitor inventory, and use supplies efficiently
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, physicians, and members of the healthcare team
- Participate in quality improvement, professional development, and ongoing training activities
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years of Medical Assistant experience in a clinic or outpatient setting, or 1 year in a Novice-II position
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Certified Medical Assistant certification through AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, or NHA; Registered Medical Assistant or EMT certification also accepted
- Strong knowledge of medical practices, patient care, medical equipment, and clinical procedures
- Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate medical records and protect confidential patient information
- Must maintain current certifications and complete required ongoing training and education
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPT - Certified Phlebotomy Technician (ACA) certification
- Experience in a transplant center or specialty clinical setting
- Experience with phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Experience with MyChart and other electronic healthcare systems
Additional Requirements:
- Scrubs are required as the standard work attire
- May require travel within the Houston Metropolitan area
- No regular on-call requirement; emergency or disaster-related on-call may be required
