Job Title:Medical Assistant

Job Description:                          
  • Serves as the first point of contact for patient care and is responsible for both administrative and patient care duties.
  • Performs a variety of activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments, including computations. Typically handles semi-routine assignments.
  • Carries out clinical duties, including discussing symptoms; collecting and entering patient information into the electronic medical records system; taking vital signs; administering injections; performing diagnostic tests; collecting specimens; drawing blood; sterilizing and cleaning equipment; maintaining examination rooms at an outpatient care site; and collaborating closely with physicians and nurses.
  • Provides direct patient care within the scope permitted by active certification. Makes decisions primarily involving the interpretation of departmental policies and procedures to complete assigned responsibilities.
  • Works within established guidelines to meet work expectations and quality standards, while exercising some discretion in prioritizing tasks and managing timelines under minimal supervision.
  • Adheres to established policies and practices that allow for limited interpretation, deviation, and independent judgment, as appropriate.
 Required Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care
  • Applicable State licensure in field of study (RMA/ CMA)
  • Current CPR or BLS certification
  • High School Diploma
  • Must be a team player with excellent communication skills
  • Experience in a fast pace/high volume environment
  • Experience with MS Outlook
  • Basic Computer knowledge
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
