Medical Assistant

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's healthcare facility in Joshua, TX.

Job Details:

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Location: Joshua, TX 76058

Job Type: Local Contract

Contract Length: 11 weeks

Pay Range: $21.00 to $23.00/hour on W2

Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.

Duties:

• Room patients, prepare them for examinations, and assist physicians, APCs, and nurses with patient care.
• Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, EKGs, medication administration, wound dressing changes, and other procedures within the Medical Assistant scope of practice.
• Operate diagnostic equipment, perform equipment quality control checks, and document patient care accurately in the medical record.
• Maintain exam and treatment rooms, stock supplies, follow infection control procedures, and support patient confidentiality and safety.
• Coordinate patient care, perform intake and information gathering, and follow established policies, procedures, and delegation protocols.

Requirements:

• Certification(s): Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification and current BLS certification for healthcare providers
• Years of experience: 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Skills/Specialties/Technology: Medical terminology, phlebotomy, basic computer literacy, patient care, EKGs, specimen collection, medication administration, wound care, diagnostic equipment, ICD-10/CPT coding knowledge preferred, and strong communication/customer service skills
• Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish
