    About The Role

    As a Medical Assistant in our Medical Assistant department, you will support providers and clinical staff by performing a wide range of direct patient care and clinical tasks. This hourly, full-time role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring strong technical skills in blood draws, injections, EKGs, and vital sign collection, along with excellent communication and organizational abilities. You will play a key role in patient intake and workflow efficiency, ensuring that each patient encounter is safe, thorough, and compassionate. DOT drug screen certification is preferred, as this position may assist with occupational health and drug screening services.


    What You'll Do

    • Perform patient intake, including verifying patient identity, reviewing medical history, and documenting chief complaints in the electronic medical record
    • Measure and record accurate vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, height, and weight
    • Perform blood draws (phlebotomy) following proper safety, labeling, and specimen handling protocols
    • Administer injections and immunizations as ordered by providers, using appropriate technique and documentation
    • Conduct and assist with EKGs (electrocardiograms), ensuring proper lead placement and accurate test results
    • Prepare patients and exam rooms for visits, procedures, and treatments, maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment
    • Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures, anticipating needs and ensuring patient comfort and safety
    • Support DOT and non-DOT drug screening processes in accordance with clinic policies and regulatory standards (DOT drug screen certification preferred)
    • Document clinical care accurately and in a timely manner within the electronic medical record system
    • Follow infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols at all times
    • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, providers, and staff in English
    • Manage clinical supplies and equipment, including stocking, cleaning, and basic maintenance checks
    • Participate in team meetings, trainings, and workflow improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and clinic efficiency


    Qualifications

    • Current Medical Assistant (MA) certification from an accredited program
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Demonstrated experience or training in blood draws (phlebotomy), injections, EKGs, and obtaining vital signs
    • Proficiency with patient intake processes and documentation in an electronic medical record system
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
    • Strong attention to detail, organization, and adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize patient needs
    • Professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to care and teamwork
    • DOT drug screen certification preferred or willingness to obtain after hire
